Collection: Harnessing Fleece Tape
Harness fleece tape is a soft, fabric-backed tape for wrapping and protecting automotive wiring looms. This guide explains what it does and why it is used instead of ordinary tape.
Why fleece tape — The fleece backing does two jobs a plain PVC tape cannot. It damps noise, stopping the loom rattling and buzzing against panels and brackets, and it protects the cables from chafing and abrasion where the loom runs against edges and moving parts. It is the tape carmakers use to wrap looms, and it hand-tears cleanly for quick, tidy wrapping.
Where it is used — Use it to wrap and bundle wiring harnesses, quieten rattling looms behind the dash and in doors, protect cable runs from rubbing, and give a repaired or added loom a neat, factory-style finish. It conforms around branches and connectors in the loom.
How to use it — Wrap the tape along the loom with an overlap, keeping it snug so it grips and stays put, and extend it onto the cable either side of any area you are protecting. Tear to length by hand at the end.
