Denso Petroleum Tape (Petrolatum) 50/75/100mm – Anti-Corrosion Pipe Wrap Tape

Petroleum tape (petrolatum tape) — a cold-applied anti-corrosion wrap that protects metal against corrosion and weathering, above ground, buried or immersed. Made from a non-woven, stitch-bonded synthetic fabric carrier fully saturated with a natural petrolatum compound and corrosion inhibitors, it conforms to irregular shapes and doesn't harden or crack, so it stays flexible and protective for years. No primer or heat needed — just clean the surface and wrap.

Key properties
Non-hardening and non-cracking, so it accommodates vibration and extreme substrate movement. Highly conformable over irregular profiles. Stable in composition and plasticity over a wide temperature range. Non-toxic and non-flammable, with high dielectric strength, and highly resistant to mineral acids, alkalis and salts.

How to apply
Wear suitable gloves. Spirally wrap using a minimum 55% overlap. For vertical runs, start at the bottom and work up to give a 'weatherboard' overlap. Where space is confined, apply longitudinally ('cigarette wrap') with the overlap on the top of the pipe. Smooth the overlaps by hand as you finish each roll, and maintain a 100mm overlap where one roll ends and a new roll begins.
