Collection: Battery Terminals
Battery terminals and connection parts for cars, vans, leisure and marine batteries, covering the clamps, connectors and covers that join a cable to the battery. This guide explains how to choose the right parts.
Battery terminals and clamps — The terminal is the clamp that connects your cable to the battery post. Choose by post type first, as standard and smaller JIS posts differ in size, and match the positive and negative terminals to their posts. Terminals also vary by how the cable attaches, from clamp and bolt fittings to crimp and solder types, so pick the fitting that suits your cable and how permanent the connection needs to be.
Crimp connectors — Seiwa-type crimp terminals give a clean, solder-free connection onto battery cable using a crimping tool. They suit tidy, repeatable terminations where a bolt-on clamp is not wanted.
Covers and protection — Terminal covers and stud covers insulate the live connection to prevent shorts and accidental contact, and are usually colour-coded so positive and negative are easy to tell apart. Fit the cover to match your terminal shape.
Isolator switches — A battery isolator switch cuts the connection to fully disconnect the battery for storage, security or safety. See our Battery Isolators collection for the full range.
