HSS Cobalt Drill Bits – 5% Cobalt (M35), Metric 1–13mm

HSS cobalt drill bits are the toughest grade in the range, made for drilling stainless steel, hardened steel and other hard, heat-generating metals that burn out ordinary HSS bits — high-speed steel alloyed with 5% cobalt (M35) to hold its edge at high temperatures.

Grade
M35 high-speed steel with 5% cobalt content — heat and wear resistant, keeps cutting where roll forged and ground flute bits would blunt.

Metric, 1.0mm to 13.0mm.

M35 cobalt HSS with ground flutes and a round shank, jobber length.

Manufactured to DIN 338.

Uses
Drilling stainless steel, hardened and alloy steels, cast iron, titanium and other tough or abrasive metals; also handles standard steel, wood and plastics.

For general-purpose drilling in softer materials, roll forged or ground flute bits are a lower-cost choice.
