Steel wool in a generous 450g pack, for cleaning, polishing, stripping and finishing wood and metal by hand. Fine steel fibres conform to any shape, getting into mouldings, turnings and detail that a flat abrasive skips — the traditional choice for burnishing, de-rusting and rubbing back finishes.
Choosing a grade Fine for polishing, burnishing, final finishing and rubbing down between coats. Medium for general cleaning, stripping wax and light rust. Coarse for heavy stripping, paint and rust removal. Choose above.
How to use it Work along the grain on wood. Use with wax, oil or finish to burnish, or dry to strip and clean. On metal it lifts rust and polishes without the scratch pattern of sandpaper.

A note on use Steel wool sheds fine fibres and is not suitable for stainless steel or aluminium, where the fibres can embed and rust — for those, use our non-woven hand pads instead.
