Why silicone — Silicone hose withstands high temperatures and stays flexible without perishing, cracking or going hard the way rubber does with age and heat. That makes it the choice for radiator and coolant runs, air intake and turbo boost pipework, and performance and motorsport builds. It is not suitable for fuel or oil, which break silicone down, so use rubber fuel hose for those lines.

Straight hose and elbows — Straight silicone hose joins runs in line, while 90 degree elbows turn the run around a corner without kinking, which is ideal for tight engine bay routing. Match the bore of the hose and elbow to the pipe stubs they connect.

Vacuum tubing — Small-bore silicone vacuum tubing suits vacuum lines, boost gauge feeds, breather and washer runs, and other low-pressure connections where a neat, heat-resistant small hose is needed.

Choosing the bore — Silicone hose is sized by internal bore to match the stub or pipe it slides onto, secured with a clip. Measure the bore you need and choose the hose, elbow or tubing to match.
