Collection: Gaffer/Duct Tape

Strong cloth-backed gaffer and duct tape for repairs, bundling, sealing and cable work, in a choice of colours and widths. This guide explains what it suits and how to choose.

What it does — Cloth tape combines a strong fabric backing with a high-grab adhesive, so it holds firm, tears cleanly by hand and conforms around edges and awkward shapes. It handles jobs where a lighter tape would not cope, from joining and sealing to bundling, patching and marking.

Typical jobs — Use it for general repairs and patching, sealing and joining sheeting and ducting, bundling and holding, floor and cable marking, and taping down leads and mats. It is a workshop, site, event and stage staple wherever a tough, quick-fix tape is needed.

Choosing a colour — Black is the all-round choice, grey and white suit repairs and marking, and red stands out for hazard marking, coding and identifying areas or cables at a glance. Choose the colour to suit the job and any colour-coding you use.

Choosing a width — Narrower tape suits marking, taping cables and smaller repairs; wider tape covers seams and larger patches faster. Choose the width to match the job, or keep more than one to hand.
