525pc Assorted Box of UNC Nuts - 525 bright zinc plated steel hexagon full nuts in UNC thread, four sizes from 1/4 inch up to 7/16 inch.

UNC is the coarse half of the Unified thread series and it is what you meet across American and older British machinery, classic vehicles, plant and agricultural equipment. The thing to get right is that UNC and UNF share the same diameters and differ only in pitch, so a 3/8 UNC nut will start on a 3/8 UNF bolt and then bind - count the threads before you reach for one. Bright zinc is the right finish for restoration work, being the modern stand-in for the zinc and cadmium plating these fasteners originally carried.

Bright zinc is a light duty corrosion finish suited to dry and sheltered work, so for anything permanently exposed to the weather, stainless is the better choice.
