A PAL fuse, also sold as an auto link, is the high current fuse fitted to the main feeds on Japanese vehicles. It is a slow blow type, which means it rides out the surge a starter or a blower motor draws on start up rather than blowing on it, while still protecting the cable against a sustained fault.

Male and female
A male PAL fuse has blades that push into the holder. A female has slots that push onto blades in the holder. Match the type of the fuse being replaced - both are used on Japanese vehicles and a holder takes only one of the two.
