250pc Assorted Box of Dome Nuts - 250 bright zinc plated steel dome nuts, also known as acorn or cap nuts, in five metric sizes from M5 up to M12, metric coarse thread.

A dome nut closes off the end of a bolt. The thread stops inside a solid cap, so there is no exposed stud to catch a hand, snag a strap or rust down the thread - which is why they end up on anything people brush past or reach over. On a trailer, a roof bar or a handrail they are as much about the finish as the fixing, and a row of clean domed caps is the difference between work that looks finished and work that looks left.

Please note
The thread in a dome nut is closed at the top, so the bolt can only enter so far. Check the bolt does not protrude further than the nut's thread depth - if it bottoms out against the dome the nut spins up tight against the end of its own thread and feels tight while the joint underneath is still loose. Cut the bolt down or use a shorter one rather than forcing it. Bright zinc plating is a light duty corrosion finish suited to dry and sheltered work, so for gates, railings, trailers or anything left out in the weather, stainless is the better choice and will not streak rust down the work.
