178mm Fibre Sanding Disc (7") — Sanding & Grinding, Angle Grinder

178mm fibre sanding disc for sanding, grinding and stripping metal on a 7 inch angle grinder. A tough resin-bonded disc on a vulcanised fibre backing, and the largest fibre disc in the range — the big working face clears welds, rust and paint far faster than a handheld-size disc, for fabrication, structural steel and large surface preparation.

Needs a backing pad
A fibre disc is flat and flexible and does not mount to a grinder on its own. It runs on a backing pad, which bolts to the grinder spindle and supports the disc. Match the pad to the disc size so the disc slightly overhangs the pad edge.

Choosing a grit
36 (coarse) for general grinding, stripping and stock removal. 60 (medium) for lighter removal and a smoother surface before finishing. This is a coarse abrasive for heavy work — for fine finishing use a flap disc or sanding sheet.
