MICRO3 is the odd one in the blade fuse family and it catches people out. The three blades are not a bigger version of a two blade fuse - they carry two separate fuse elements sharing a common feed, so a single MICRO3 protects two circuits from one supply point. That is why manufacturers use them where space is tightest and circuit counts highest, and why a MICRO3 will not go in a MICRO2 holder or the other way round. If you work on modern vehicles you need both formats on the shelf, because the fuse box decides which, not you.

MICRO3 and MICRO2 are not interchangeable. MICRO3 has three blades and MICRO2 has two, so check the holder before ordering. Fit a fuse of the same rating as the one that failed - a higher rating will not cure the fault, it will move the failure into the wiring.
