100pc Assorted Box of Exhaust Manifold Studs & Nuts - 60 steel studs across twelve sizes from M8 x 35 up to M10 x 52, with 40 nuts in brass and copper flashed steel.

Manifold fixings fail in a particular way. Heat cycling and years of exhaust gas weld a steel nut onto a steel stud until the two are one piece, and the stud shears off in the head rather than coming undone - which turns a gasket change into a drilling and tapping job. Brass and copper flashed nuts are the answer: neither will gall onto the stud the way steel does, so the joint comes apart next time. That is why they are what manufacturers fit and what any exhaust job worth doing properly goes back together with.

Please note
Always fit new nuts rather than reusing the originals - a nut that has been through a few hundred heat cycles has lost the thread clearance that lets it come off again, and it is the cheapest part of the job. Do not use a standard steel nut or a nylon insert nut on a manifold: steel seizes onto the stud and the nylon insert will not survive the temperature. Tighten evenly and to the manufacturer's figure, working from the centre outwards.
