Check how far the bolt protrudes past the nut before choosing a size - a cap has a fixed internal depth, and a bolt standing proud of the nut needs a cap deep enough to clear it. Size refers to the nut the cap fits, not the cap's own diameter. These are a cover rather than a fixing: they take no load and are not a substitute for tightening the nut properly.
