Fuel Hose

Fuel hose and pipe for petrol and diesel systems, carrying fuel between the tank, pump, carburettor or injection system. This range covers reinforced and cotton braided hose plus leak-off bungs, and the guide below explains how to choose.

Reinforced or cotton braided — This is the main decision, and it comes down to pressure. Reinforced fuel hose has a braid or textile layer through the wall to handle the higher pressures of fuel-injection and pump feed lines. Cotton braided hose is the classic low-pressure type suited to carburettor feeds, return lines and leak-off runs. Match the hose to the pressure of the system, as a low-pressure hose on a pressurised line is unsafe.

Leak-off bungs — Leak-off bungs blank off unused spigots on diesel injector leak-off rails and unions, sealing the return line where a connection is not used. Choose the bung to fit the spigot it caps.

Choosing the bore — Fuel hose is sized by internal bore to match the pipe or stub it connects to. Measure the bore you need and choose hose to suit, so it seals under a clip without being forced or loose.
