Emery Cloth Sheets

Emery cloth sheets in premium aluminium oxide, for rust removal, sanding, deburring and polishing metal by hand. The grain is bonded to a flexible blue J-weight twill cloth that wraps around bar, tube and pipe without cracking and tears cleanly to size. Emery cloth holds a more consistent grain and lasts far longer than ordinary sandpaper, which is why it is the workshop standard for working metal.

Why cloth, not paper
The twill cloth backing takes the heat, pressure and oil of metalwork and stands up to repeated use where a paper sheet would tear. For wood and general sanding, use our production paper; for wet sanding and paintwork, our wet and dry sheets.

Choosing a grit
40 (coarse) for heavy rust, scale and stock removal. 80 (medium) for general cleaning and preparation. 120 (fine) for finishing and polishing before paint or plate.
